The wildebeest migration is the largest mass movement of land animals on Earth, and it moves all year. Choose your season: calving in the south, herds moving north, or the dramatic Mara River crossings. We plan your route around where the herds are expected to be for your dates.

Migration timing is natural and varies year to year. We position you in the right area at the right time. Nature takes it from there.
December to March is calving season. Around 500,000 wildebeest calves are born in the southern Serengeti and the Ndutu area in a concentrated few weeks, typically late January to mid-February. Newborns can walk within minutes. Predator density is at its highest of the year: lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, and hyena all converge on the calving grounds. This is the best time to witness hunting behaviour. Available as a 7-day Standard itinerary or a 6-day Luxury itinerary, both centred on Ndutu.
